Our Commitment
AI Governance Hub is committed to making the platform accessible to everyone, including users with disabilities. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard, and this page reflects our actual progress, updated as our conformance status changes.
Accessibility is not a one-time effort but an ongoing commitment. We continuously work to improve the user experience for all our users.
Accessibility Features
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Tab through forms, buttons, and menus without a mouse.
Screen Reader Support
Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and live regions ensure compatibility with JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
Colour Contrast
Minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text, meeting WCAG 2.2 AA requirements.
Reduced Motion
Respects prefers-reduced-motion settings to avoid triggering motion sensitivity issues.
Conformance Status
We do not currently claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. The table below reflects our actual status against the criteria most relevant to the platform. Items marked "Planned" or "Partial" are an active workstream — see our roadmap below.
| Success criterion | Status |
|---|---|
| 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) | Implemented |
| 2.1.1 Keyboard | Partial — most flows keyboard-operable; audit in progress |
| 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (skip link) | Planned |
| 2.4.3 Focus Order | Partial — modal and wizard focus management in progress |
| 2.4.7 Focus Visible | Implemented |
| 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured | Planned |
| 2.5.7 Dragging Movements | Implemented — no drag-only interactions |
| 2.5.8 Target Size | Implemented — 24×24px minimum |
| 3.2.3 Consistent Navigation | Implemented |
| 4.1.3 Status Messages | Partial — live regions on a subset of async outcomes |
Assistive Technologies
We are testing with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), and the latest two versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, with browser zoom up to 200%. Formal test passes across our core user journeys are scheduled as part of our current accessibility programme; we will publish specific results here once complete.
Known Limitations
We are actively working to improve the following areas:
- Keyboard focus does not yet move automatically after opening a dialog or advancing a multi-step wizard
- Some dynamic status updates are not yet consistently announced to screen readers
- PDF exports may not be fully accessible to screen readers
- Complex data visualizations (charts) have basic alt text but limited interactive accessibility
- Some third-party integrations (such as checkout) are controlled by external providers
Testing and Compliance
We use automated and manual testing to maintain accessibility:
- Automated: axe-core checks run on every deployment
- Manual: Keyboard navigation and contrast testing is ongoing; formal screen reader test passes are scheduled as part of our current programme

Technical Specifications
AI Governance Hub relies on the following technologies:
- HTML5 semantic markup
- ARIA 1.2 attributes and roles
- CSS3 for visual presentation (respects user preferences)
- JavaScript (React 18) for interactive features (graceful degradation where possible)
Third-Party Content
Some features integrate third-party service providers (for example, payments). While we select providers with strong accessibility commitments, we cannot guarantee full compliance of external content.
Our Accessibility Roadmap
Current phase: Skip navigation link, ARIA live regions on all async outcomes, focus management on modal and wizard transitions, accessible form error announcements, and a full NVDA/VoiceOver test pass across five core user journeys.
Next: Rich text editor and data table accessibility, and a published VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template).
